Ruminations of a Squirrely Dog

More fodder for the unsuspecting masses

1960 Cyclocross video

This is a pretty neat video of a 1960 era cyclocross race. I doubt you would see someone fling their $4,000 cyclocross bike across the river these days.

Wonderful things found through mindless surfing

Came across this pretty entertaining band from Israel called  Monotonix. I don’t know if they always play in the middle of the crowd like this but it looks like a really rowdy fun time. Apparently the Seattle police shut down this particular show after 14 minutes. I wish I would have went to see them when they were in town a couple of weeks ago!

I came across this really cool stop motion animation on The Nerdist blog (which I recommend if you have not visited). Pretty cool what you can do with a few candles and a little imagination.

Super Crazy Rainbow Guy

Okay, I realize that this blog has just turned into me posting a lot of videos, but I just couldn’t resist posting this one. We should all get this  excited about life’s little pleasures. (well maybe not this excited)

Awesome new video by BLU

I was first introduced to BLU in a flash class a couple of years ago. Even if he is not your cup of tea, you have to be impressed by the creativity and the amount of work that go in to his pieces. This is the newest video.

Bicycle Jousting

OK this looks like it could actually be a little more exciting than the roller derby I went to see a few weeks back ( I wanted to like it a lot more I really did , they were all such great people). Bike Jousting on high bikes. It seems you can’t fall hard enough off of a regular bike so let’s make it so we sit a few feet higher so we can get better bruises. This is actually a video from A Holy Ghost remix of LCD Soundsystem’s Drunk Girls. I prefer the original version but this is kind of interesting in a discoish way. Still think LCD’s This Is Happening is the album of the year at least until the new Grinderman album comes out!

Beck’s Record Club

If you have not checked out Beck’s website recently you are missing some pretty cool stuff. Once in a while he gets a bunch of musicians together and in one day they cover an entire “classic” album. In the past they have done Leonard Cohen, The Velvet Underground and Skip Spence. He generally releases the songs at a rate of one or two a week in video form. Currently he is posting remakes of INXS’s most popular album Kick. The songs are usually interesting if nothing else but every once in a while they really hit one out of the park like “Never Tear Us Apart”. Go to to check out the whole release so far.

Cheese Rolling?

Man, I thought motorcycle racing was dangerous! Who would have thought that the glorious sport of cheese rolling would send so many people to the meat wagon!

You may have come here hoping to obtain great knowledge about the world around us or at the very least some insight about it from my perspective.
